PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Check out some of my work!

I have worked as a painter in the Harrisburg area for over 5 years. Some of the businesses I have been hired to paint or stain are featured in the pictures above. They include Duke's Bar and Grill, Snyders Paint Store, Phillips Office Solutions, and Goodall Pools and Spa. From my experiences I have learned to take great pride in my work and to hold self efficacy in high esteem.

Home: Skills
  • I have many years of experience painting as an independent contractor. I have completed projects at many different local industrial and residential sites, and I have applied specialty coatings to various substrates using a variety of different products and application methods. I have assisted in the preparation, staining, and applications of many outdoor decks and other wooden substrates. I have also completed office renovations and repainted the interior of many residential homes. This is a skill as much as it is a hobby for me.

  • I acquire some business from my job at Snyders Paint Store, but most of my work comes from referrals. I have learned the importance of maintaining good relationships with my customers because providing a respectful perception of yourself will increase the chance of gaining new customers from word of mouth. From my experiences I developed a better understanding of how to interact with people in a professional and friendly manner.

  • The skills and knowledge I have gained through my work experiences at Snyders Paint Store have assisted me in my work as a professional contractor. This is a skill that has helped me complete many projects at my house, but more importantly I have been able to help other people complete theirs. This fulfillment is something I would like to carry over into my future career working as a Human Resources Specialist.

Labor Economics

Computer Applications

I have used and applied computer programs such as Excel, Access, Maxima, and other Microsoft Office applications. I have completed computer intensive college courses such as College Computer Applications, Accounting, and Statistics. Each class has helped me develop my skills in many applications and most importantly, Excel files. I have used Excel to create General Ledgers, pivot tables, and extensive data spreadsheets for my Economics courses and for personal projects.

Golf Enthusiast

Golf is a sport that I have enjoyed for a long time, and would like to continue playing for the rest of my life. In high school, I was nominated as Captain of the golf team because of my responsibility and leadership skills. I continued to play competitively after high school for a Division III community college. I hope to use golf in my professional career as a way of bonding with potential business clients and making investments.
